The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks enlists your support in the determination of a name for a new 50-acre park in Porter Ranch.
On January 14, 2019, L.A. City Parks and Council District 12 will meet with the community at the Chatsworth Recreation Center (22360 Devonshire St., Chatsworth, CA 91311) from 6-8 pm to receive input in the naming process.
Councilmember Englander and The Department of Recreation and Parks invite you to join us on Friday, November 16th at 4:00PM at the Granada Hills Charter High School to assist in the naming of a new park in Porter Ranch!
The park, located at 11900 MASON AVENUE, is planned to offer outdoor pavilion, splash pad, courts, hiking trail, and great views of Los Angeles.
Councilmember Englander’s office has worked with L.A.’s Bureau of Engineering and the Department of Recreation of Parks to ensure that the Granada Hills Pool will be operational and open for use during the hot summer months.
The pool is decades old and has developed leaks which threatened the ability to keep it open for summer. However, by working with various departments, the Councilmember’s office was able to make sure the necessary repairs were done to keep it open. They have also fully-funded and developed plans for a new aquatic center at the location which will replace the old pool in time for the 2020 swim season!
Aquatic centers such are important community gathering spaces during summer months that provide a safe and fun place for youth and families to gather while school is out and the weather is hot. See you at the pool!
The summer swimming season is here and L.A.’s public pools open in June and remain open through Labor Day! Please visit the links below to find out more information on hours and activities at LA City Pools.
Our public pools are a wonderful resource, offering kids and adults in the community a great, economical way to cool off, get exercise and have fun!
The City’s Aquatics facilities include regular public swimming pools with a wide variety of amenities, programs, sports and classes for children, adults and people with disabilities and competitive athletes in training. The City also offers a Junior Lifeguard Training Program designed to prepare young people who are interested in pursuing a career as a Lifeguard.
